About Us
IT ALL STARTED BACK WHEN…
We partnered with the Terence Higgins Trust back in the early 80’s when no one would move people with HIV, so we stepped in to help and became London’s first LGBT removals business. We now serve all Londoners not just the LGBT community. Our lovely clients include everyone from the more vulnerable to celebrites and everybody in between. There’s never a dull day.
Shirley started the business and I was the General Manager for over 10 years. When Shirley retired I decided to bite the bullet and buy the business with my partner. We have a thriving home and office moves business with our customers coming back to us, telling their friends and colleagues.

Home moves
Studios to large houses
London has a diverse community and we work with all of you. We care about getting your house move done as stress free as possible. You and your belongings are treated with respect and we work with you to ensure we place the belongings where you want them and we have some of the most experienced movers in London. We can move you to anywhere in the UK.
Office moves
Small to medium studios /offices
We understand time is money so we work with you on the timing and logistics to cause the least amount of disruption to your business from pre-move consultation and planning to ensuring everything is where it should be at your new office. We are experienced with IT equipment, board room tables and all other office equipment and furniture.
Packing
Let us do the hard work
Not sure of much to pack in each box? Don't have the time? Don't know where to start? Want your packing boxes delivered? We are expert packers from handling delicate and fragile belongings, wardrobes full of clothes to tools and equipment and books galore. Bubble wrap is Shirley's game. We can dismantle and reassemble wardrobes, beds, sofas and other furniture items.
Packing for shipping
Moving overseas? Need your belongings packed for moving? Want women only? We’ve got it covered. We professionally pack your belongings for freight with care and ensure the packing materials are suitable for the trip. We work with Freight companies who will arrange the shipping from London to overseas.

We couldn’t recommend Shirley’s enough! From first communication to moving us out of our sold home and into our new home, Wendy and her fabulous team were professional, responsive, efficient and extremely kind and friendly. The team boxed all our stuff up beautifully and thoughtfully. And when it was time to move in again, they re- assembled the beds and drawers ( our large furniture bits). We are so grateful and would always use again and recommend.

Huge thanks to Magali and her two helpers for being so efficient, professional and friendly during my move yesterday. By far the least stressful and most pleasant move experience that I have had so far. Wendy in the office was also very responsive and helpful when dealing with my queries and making all the arrangements. Highly recommend and I will definitely be using Shirley’s again in future.

My husband and I used Shirley's removals for a move in 2015 and were impressed so when we needed to move again recently I booked them again. Shirleys provided us with a really excellent service moving house. The packing was done with care and attention. The unloading team worked really hard to get everything into our house that is quite a tricky space to negotiate. We also had to make changes to our dates due to unforeseen circumstances, and this was dealt with very well and managed smoothly. I would highly recommend and would definitely use this service again. SHIRLEY'S came highly recommended from a friend and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. I can't rave about it enough. We were moving with multiple kids and pets and into a partial construction site and the team just showed up and were amazing, friendly, professional, calm, and everything else you'd want when you're stressed. They treat everything you own with the utmost respect and are kind and thoughtful throughout the process.
