The Guys sent were very professional, friendly and very experienced in what they do, over coming some problem areas with ease.They were local and competitively priced and choosing them was was a great decision. Matthew Carter packed up the contents of a large house for us, stored them for several months and then delivered to two different locations 200 miles apart. All the team that we met were very professional, polite and very helpful. We think this was an excellent service, and competitively priced. We would definitely use them again.
We recently used Matthew Carter Removals to move house, and we couldn't have been happier! We had previously used them when moving a piano and had been impressed, so when it came to moving house they were our first port of call. Matthew Carter came out to quote for the job, outlined the process and sent through the quote promptly. He was very flexible with fitting us in as there was a bit of too and fro between the buyers and sellers with the exchange date. When it came to packing up the house (we had asked for this to be done for us) the team who came to do it were very friendly, very professional and took great care of our belongings. Move day itself was as smooth as it could have been, and everything was unloaded that day which was fantastic as we had thought that it may stretch over a couple of days. We would highly recommend Matthew Carter Removals and will use them again in the future. Thank you for making what is a stressful time, as stress free as possible. Thank you!
I would not recommend this company at all. We received a quote that we thought was a bit high but decided to go ahead given they were going to make moving easier, as I am not physically capable. We had a tentative date but couldn’t give a firm date with purchasing a new build m. We were assured it wouldn’t be an issue since it wasn’t a busy time of year. We tried to give them a deposit to ensure services but they said it wasn’t necessary. This gave me red flags but I trusted their word. As soon as we had our completion date, we contacted them to confirm the date we had initially and tentatively booked. After repeated attempts to contact them, we were finally told they had booked another move and wouldn’t be able to help us. They left us only two weeks to find another option. Thankfully there are decent people out there but it isn’t this company. They didn’t even have the respect to contact us to let us know they were considering another move. Completely unacceptable and disrespectful.

Absolutely appalling service, let me down with just over a week to go because I couldn’t guarantee what time I would receive the keys, which is something you’d expect a removals company to be well aware of. He ignored numerous messages and phone calls and clearly had no intention of telling me he wouldn’t be able to complete my move, not very professional!! I would recommend Smart Movers from Highworth, efficient, friendly and a lot cheaper!!
Matt and his team were fab all through our move. They kept us well supplied with packaging and boxes leading up to moving day and on the day itself were quick and efficient. We were very impressed with the detail of inventories made for storage units so that we would easily be able to access anything needed. And the cheery nature of the team on the day helped to make what could have been a stressful experience much more bearable!
We had a great experience with Matthew Carter Removals. We appreciated that Matthew came over personally to size up the job and answer our questions - this wasn’t the case with other firms we asked to quote our move. On the day, the team were friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble and we didn’t need to lift a finger. Everything arrived at our new home in perfect condition. Overall we were seriously impressed and we would gladly recommend Matthew Carter.
Knowing how busy some removal companies can be and so to ensure I was sorted I engaged Matthew Carter some 3 months before i knew i would need to move. I accepted their quote and advised i would likely need to move on the first or second week of August and that we should get In touch nearer the time to ensure things would happen on schedule. Just over a month before my move date I emailed the company to advise them of my firm date which was going to be 16th August. It took 10 days - 3 emails and 2 phone calls from me before Matthew finally called me back indicating that he couldn't accommodate my date, or any date near it. To say I was devastated and amazed at this is putting it mildly. He left me high and dry without an alternative. He did indicate on the phone that he would see what was possible and come back to me later that day, and as I had some flexibility with dates, I was prepared to go with whatever he came up with. Some days later, I was still waiting to hear from him - despite me texting him and phoning the office (yet again) for an update. They have gone to radio silence and effectively dumped me right in it. DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT YOUR MOVE TO GO AHEAD.
Very polite and approachable local family firm. Good value for money, well worth getting a quote from them.

Excellent service - a set move out and open ended move in date, and MC took it all in his stride and sent an excellent team to pack up and move us out with options of new house or storage still on the cards until late in the day. We ended up getting keys in the nick of time, and the team got our stuff unloaded very quickly without complaint, being professional throughout. Not only happy with the service, but appreciative of the "above and beyond" attitude. Highly recommended.
The three men who helped me move were so helpful, willing and cheerful. Nothing was too much trouble. I couldn't have been happier, all the boxes and furniture went to all the allocated rooms in my new house.
The vehicle arrived as planned on time, staff were very polite and friendly, and ensured safe social distancing was respected. All the boxes were delivered safely to the new premises, and very tidily stacked in the assigned locations. The day went very smoothly. We really appreciate the team making this move straightforward and stress free for us. The job was competatively priced.

Excellent service from start to finish - our move was quite major and in the run up to Christmas, so stressful for a variety of reasons. The team couldn’t have been better - efficient, friendly and flexible. I would also highly recommend their packing service too - took the hassle out (plus I’m sure we’d still be there now if we’d attempted it ourselves). Great value and not one single thing was damaged in transit. Highly recommend!
I cannot recommend this company highly enough. They made the move as stress free as is possible. They were respectful of our property and needs, patient and helped to keep spirits high with there jovial but professional approach. We cannot thank them enough for making what was not s straightforward move as pleasant as possible. We sustained no damages or breakage and no tears! Thank you guys very much.
I needed a removal firm at short notice, and after some recommendations asked for a quote from Matthew Carter that I was happy to accept. The removal men were prompt, efficient, careful, and shared many jokes about the number of pot plants I was moving, that all arrived safely. They got soaked in the afternoon, but still stayed cheerful. I'm more than happy to recommend them.
Matthew Carter visited our home himself and gave us great guidance in organising our packing. The guys arrived promptly and were very considerate of our possessions. They had great humour and kept us entertained with their singing. They were fabulous when we arrived at our new home to find the previous owner had not left. They offered positive and helpful solutions to our situation which was very stressful. The guys were brilliant and would recommend Matthew Carter and his staff to anyone looking for a family run, client focused, efficient and professionally run service.
