We have used Chapmans 3 times in two years to move elderly relatives and for our own complicated move. Their communication, flexibility and value for money is excellent. They take a personal interest in each job and are kindly, patient and very professional. Excellent quality business.
Not sure why I’ve been asked to give feedback 11 months after moving but that’s symptomatic of Chapman’s. They’re just not very good. 1. We agreed they’d pack and part load a van the day before. 1 guy turned up and packed some stuff. No van was available so the next day was going to be busier than necessary. 2. The lorry arrived and 3 guys spent 40 minutes trying to park it. The idea that one of them could’ve cracked on with packing was lost on them. 3. Packing the rest of the house went at a snail’s pace. They eventually called for back up with about an hour to go before we had to be out. We made it by 3 minutes. Massively stressful. 4. The packing and moving was abysmal. Things bent in half to fit in boxes, heavy books thrown on top of plants. Pictures smashed. Furniture scratched. Walls gouged. Attitude to this when we complained was appalling and the claim process made very difficult. 5. They very nearly drove to the wrong address. I mean, their literal job is to go from one place to another, but that seemed to tax them. All in all, we were really unhappy and simply couldn’t recommend anyone uses them.
Needed piano moving but had complex personal situation. Company was excellent very flexible and understanding. Removal team were excellent friendly and efficient both on collection and delivery . Would 100% recommend ! Thank you!
Generally very happy. The removal guys were very good, helpful and couldn’t do enough. They took the stress out of the situation as best they could. Paul and Elaine and everyone we dealt with in the office were fantastic, they were very understanding as the move fell through on several occasions. Packing up was a little bit hit and miss, on Day 1 of a 3 day move, our tea and coffee was packed away which didn’t make any sense. Also some of the boxes couldn’t be found for a while and the labelling on some of the boxes wasn’t explanatory enough . Our pillows which we really needed to sleep were eventually found in a box labelled ´lamp’ and our toothbrushes and wash kits were in the garage. However it generally worked very well so possibly just one person within the team caused the issues as out of 100 boxes, about 90 were labelled well and were in the right place. I would definitely recommend, just a few things needed tweaking. Thank you to the whole team involved, they worked very hard and it was a long few days and a lot of large items to move. They seriously know what they’re doing!
Brilliant service for our move. Turned up on time, van packed, emptied our storage unit and over to our new house and unpacked all within 3 hours. Took all the headache out of our moving day for us. The team were really friendly, super professional and had plenty of coverings to protect our new carpet. Would definitely recommend!
Good communication with Initial consultation. Hard working staff who managed to pack everything up safe and secure. Quick turnaround and unloading at new address. Willing to do things to our liking, checked everything was in the rooms we wanted/if we wanted anything moved. Have recommended already to friends as the benefits of Chapman's doing the removal far outweigh any arguments to do it yourself. Stress free.

Fantastic service received from Chapmans for our recent home move. From initial enquiry right through to the actual move itself the whole team were fantastic. They were flexible when dates moved and they took the worry out of what is can be a very stressful experience. On move day the vans were on time and the team were friendly and worked non stop. This is the second time we have used Chapmans and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.
Chapman's carried out a very large move for me and did a fantastic job. They are very friendly and professional, from the office staff to the movers themselves, going above and beyond to do a great job for you. It's my first experience using a removal company and I will always use Chapman's in future. Next time though, I will get them to do the packing too. Took me weeks and I know they would've done a far better job in a fraction of the time. Thank you to everyone at Chapman's.
We booked a 2 day removal with Chapmans when our previously selected removal firm had to bow out for logistical reasons (a very awkward driveway). From the first point of contact (Keith), to the home visit (Paul) and the removal days themselves (Barry, Martin, Ross and a brilliant team of amazing guys) everything was faultless and nothing was too much trouble. They made the negotiation of two removal vehicles down our challenging drive look totally effortless and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. So efficient (those men can mooooove), so respectful, so professional. The super team who looked after us are an absolute credit to Chapmans and made an emotional and potentially stressful experience (almost) enjoyable. I would unhesitatingly recommend Chapmans. Your staff are wonderful. Thank you!
The two men who removed our belongings into storage were amazing. So friendly and professional. They Worked well together removing the cases very quickly into the containers on board the lorry. The lorry was clean and shiny and the driver had a difficult job to get the lorry into our street. However his professionalism shone through on his ability to manoeuvre the lorry with ease. We look forward now to our belongings to our new house in Norfolk in the near future.
I highly recommend Chapmans. We had to put our furniture into storage and the guys were very efficient in packing the containers. Chapmans dealt calmly with repeated delays in moving to our current home. Our belongings arrived safely and the team unpacked 8 containers within a couple of hours or so. Overall, an excellent service.
I cannot recommend Chapmans highly enough. They were very helpful and accommodating in our recent move of over 200 miles. We had a very difficult experience getting to exchange of contracts (with multiple delays and problems in a long chain) and they were a constant calm and helpful presence throughout, putting up with many changes and lots of phone calls. They found solutions for our difficulties, which in our experience is very rare in the house conveyancing process. For the move itself, they were efficient, clean and careful. Our house was packed and transported and we have all our belongings in good order in our new home. Their pricing was competitive with other quotes, and the overall service they provided was truly excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending them to all my family and friends.
Really professional service. Me and my fiancé had a last minute moving date and Chapmans were really accommodating to enable us to move on schedule. They took great care when handling all of our personal items and were very efficient with their timings too, which made for a stress free moving experience! I would 100% recommend them to anyone thinking of moving.

I think Chapmans are a fantastic company. They were on time, fast, efficient and professional. Easy to book and the gentleman sent to carry out the removal were a credit to the company. Considering moving house can be quite a stressful thing, Chapmans made it easy for me.
After some debate, we booked Chapmans for our house move in March. It was definitely worth paying for. The crew were absolutely amazing, hard working and so efficient.
