About Us
A.H.Tripp & Son Ltd was originally established in 1867 as a family run stagecoach Inn and blacksmith, then moving into haulage using horse drawn wagons. At the end of the Second World War, the increasing popularity of motor cars meant the end of the working horse and we purchased our first vehicles – a Ford Model T and a Chevrolet.
This period also saw a boom in the housing market and we used our new vehicles to start transporting bricks from the South West India Docks on the Isle of Dogs. The influx of new housing led to a growing need for removal services, which is where we began focusing our activities. We now have our own fleet of purpose built removal vehicles which transport possessions around the world.
We continue to be owned and run by the Tripp family, and our reputation as an honest, reliable
and highly professional removal company remains to this day.
Most of us don’t realise how many possessions we have until we start thinking about moving. It can be daunting, but with a reliable and trustworthy removal company, and some preparation and planning, it can be an extremely efficient process.
The British Association of Removers (BAR) has produced a leaflet to help guide you through. From deciding what will be coming with you and what won’t, to advice on parking, access and running down the content of your freezer, have a read and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any further questions.
Should you have any unwanted goods, we offer a household disposal service, from a single item to a full house clearance. All fully licensed by the Environment Agency.

The team comprising Matt C, Paul, Callum and Gary did a fantastic job of moving us from Wycombe to Devon. They were friendly, fast, careful and very efficient, and took so much stress out of the house move for us. A H Tripp Removals are first class. They supported a same day load of our existing property and unload into our new property in February 2023. Turned up at 8am sharp and the 3 gents; Matt C, Callum and Dave had our 3 bed house cleared in 2 and a half hours. They were then ready and waiting at our new property, and once we had the keys they were joined by 3 other colleagues and had everything unloaded safely within an hour. Incredibly efficient, professional and personable, I could not recommend these guys highly enough.
Tripps were very helpful and flexible when dates changed at short notice and involved unexpected storage for 2 weeks. They were professional and the guys worked hard. I had a couple of queries post move, and these were handled well and politely(I was at fault, not them). Definitely recommend again.
Paul, Matt C and Sam did an amazing job. Their efficiency at packing was incredible, with everything loaded onto the van by early afternoon. Then, on day 2, they arrived early to dismantle my bed and load the last couple of items. After 100 miles, they unloaded the van and assembled 3 beds, all within 3 hours. If ever I return to live in Bucks I would definitely use Tripp again.
Tipp & Son provided excellent services from start to finish, with superb help from Jake and Jordan - who moved my home from Buckinghamshire to Cornwall - without the slightest issue! Would not hesitate to recommend!

They say that moving house is one of the most stressful life events. I don't agree! Moving day although busy, was such a lot of fun, relaxed and very enjoyable. I can definitely say without a doubt, that this was entirely due to the most amazing team of guys! 3 vans and 5 guys - well, what can I say?! It’s important to get on with the job efficiently, but when you can have fun doing this, it makes the task much more fun and a pleasure to do. The guys knew exactly what they were doing and in what order, and everyone knew their role. A few issues getting the larger van down the access road did not phase them at all! It was astounding how quickly they loaded all my precious junk! Every task was done with ease and a smile. Absolutely everything arrived intact. The guys certainly didn’t hang about and worked well as a team. They are a credit to the company indeed. I felt like I'd known them all for years. I was so happy to get moved in and was gutted to wave goodbye to the guys! (especially the one I wanted to stay - mentioning no names!) A brilliant bunch of good, genuine, friendly people and together they are a truly amazing team! They had worked so hard and still had to make the journey home, but their smiles did not stop. Thank you so very much also, to the wonderful office team - I am so grateful you put up with me when the exchange date was jiggled around and my constant calls to the office. We had a very good experience with Tripps. They moved some items for us that needed extra care. Ryan and Liam were very helpful and pleasant to have in the house. I would highly recommend.
We would highly recommend Tripps to anyone moving house. The office team were always friendly and helpful on the phone, and the removal men were all fantastic - punctual, polite, friendly and careful with our belongings. They were also incredibly speedy, in a good way! All our belongings were in storage for over 6 months and are just as we left them. Great company and service.
I would highly recommend A H Tripp & Son removals. They were fantastic from quotation to moving day and Rachael in the customer service team was excellent and very patient with us when finding a date which suited. On moving day the team were super quick and efficient making it completely stress free. I can’t thank everyone enough and would absolutely use this service again.
